Ministries

Pastor
John Richardson is driven by his passion to see people come to know Christ and make Him known. As a people person with the gift for encouragement and a knack for helping people pursue their passion, John leads the church and staff into the mission of Birmingham - that is, to work by the power of the Holy Spirit in loving people where they are and drawing them into a deeper faith in Jesus Christ. John is married the Kristen and has two children Mary Elizabeth and Madison.

Worship

Richard Bierman is a native Minnesotan (Yes, he’s a Yankee!). He and his wife, Pamela have two elementary aged children and live in Bluff Park. Richard has developed a real love for helping to bring people to a place of worship and intimacy with the lord. He has an appreciation for a wide breadth of church music, and believes that honoring God, rather than amusing or pleasing ourselves is at the center of what Christian Worship needs to be about.

Children
Mary Elizabeth Jenkins grew up in Destin, Florida. She is the youngest of three children and has 4 nieces who are the loves of her life. She graduated in 2007 from Samford University with a degree in Family Studies, and loves life in Birmingham! Mary Elizabeth has always loved children and has a real passion for seeing them grow in their love and knowledge of God. She loves her role as Children’s Pastor at St. Peter’s and looks forward to every day spent at her job. God has definitely been faithful to her and has begun a great work in her life that she is excited about with every new day!

Youth
Paul Martin is the youth pastor at St. Peter’s. He is driven by the needs of youth to be discipled and to experience the transformation of being in the presence of a Living God. Paul loves to hang out with teens and be in their world. He also loves woodworking and mowing grass.

Young Adults
Colton Houston is a 2000 graduate of Mountain Brook High School and a 2004 graduate of Harvard University. He is currently a first year Master of Divinity student at Beeson Divinity School, and he is hoping to pursue ordination within the Anglican Mission in America. He is now Young Adult Pastor, ministering to college students and 20-somethings, although his real passions lie in beatboxing and planning elaborate theme parties. Colton also really likes the movie Waiting for Guffman, the TV shows Lost and The Office, and the all the Harry Potter books. He is an INTP who feels the Lord’s call to a life of full-time Christian ministry, even though he secretly sometimes still wants to be a high school basketball coach. He is passionate about a radical theology of grace, evangelism, and breaking the cycle of self-deception. He is doing really well in his fantasy baseball league, but his plans to clean up the kitchen never really seem to get off the ground.

Administration
Amy Negrete serves as the church administrator for St. Peters. Amy’s work experience, combined with her formal education and missions experience makes her uniquely qualified to serve as our church administrator in this Anglican Mission in America church. Amy has been married to her husband Victor since 1997 and continues to enjoy her love of all things Hispanic, as Victor is a native of Mexico! They have 5 cats and 3 dogs.

Mom’s Morning Out
Kristen Richardson grew up in Panama City, FL. She is the daughter of a retired Navy Seal and has one brother, three nephews and a niece. She has always loved babies and being around children and worked as the Nursery director at Holy Nativity Church in Panama City. There she also began a Mother’s Day Out program to serve as an outreach to young mothers. She moved to Birmingham in 2003 and began Mother’s Morning Out Program at St. Peter’s in the fall of 2006. She is married to John and they have two daughters, Mary Elizabeth (15) and Madison (9) and a dog named Preacher. Kristen loves traveling with her family and in July 2007 had the opportunity to travel to Rwanda for a third time and was blessed to be a part of a team that shared the Gospel with more than 300 kids. Each day at Mom’s Morning Out gives her the opportunity to share her love of God with kids!
